The script of an old television show had the star telling a woman that he had no legal jurisdiction over her area, that she would have to survive the night alone. And survive she did, but just barely. Only to have the star come riding in at the last minute with a troop of officers who rescued her. So? He had no jurisdiction there? And then he did just in the nick of time? With no explanation offered as to why this should be? There is a writing weakness lurking there for sure.
