A Paradox

I am trying to write a book. This is the first part of it. I will be publishing every page of it here. So just read it and I hope you will enjoy following its story.

She never thought life would feel like this until she got what she has now. The multi-million dollar mansion that she never thought she’d ever had. The bedroom where she was sleeping seemed like the one she had in her dreams before. The fancy chandeliers and the cozy Jacuzzi bathtub in her bathroom; the closet full of expensive clothes and shoes were just so good to be true. But she was not dreaming. Those were real. She touched the five-million dollar necklace she was wearing and she could feel it. She closed her eyes for a moment and she opened it again. And she was amazed that those things were still there and she finally believed it. She wasn’t dreaming!

She looked at herself in the mirror. Satisfied of what she saw, she headed to the door. She was thinking maybe she would be going to work but she wasn’t sure what she should be doing in her new life now. “Good morning ma’am” The woman in white greeted her and smiled. “She looked like a maid’, she thought. She suddenly felt so excited “Damn! This is awesome. I got my own maid?!” The maid looked at her very perplexed. “Are you okay ma’am? Would you care for some breakfast before going? Your breakfast is ready.”  She just looked the maid with confusion. She couldn’t believe it but she had to. She had to live this life that she had been dreaming for so long.

“I am on a hurry”, she smiled at the woman whom she believed to be her maid. The maid opened the door for her and there she saw the fancy limousine waiting outside. The chauffeur opened the limo hurriedly when he saw her coming. She got inside and they were heading to somewhere. Secretly, she was parting. That was what exactly she was dreaming for so long; she didn’t want to wake up anymore. She just wanted to enjoy every bit of it.

The limousine stopped. She was a bit confused. The chauffeur opened the door for her. “We’re here ma’am.” She tried to act normally. “Yes, we’re here. So will you be going with me there?” She wasn’t so sure of her question but she had to ask him so she would have a clue. “I’m afraid I can’t ma’am. Just give me call when you need me. I will just be here waiting.”  She agreed to him and she didn’t know what to do. She headed to the building. It was so huge. She was thinking what she will be doing inside. “Wish I knew who I was and what kind of job I was doing.” she thought.

She was in the building premises. Everybody was looking at her with a sweet smile. Most of them greeted her. She was like someone of importance in there. “Who I am here?” she asked herself. She was so confusion and things getting no fun at all.

“Good morning Miss Rodriguez. The meeting will start at 9:00 o’clock. All of your business associates are waiting at room 302.” She smile and she handed the files. She called her Miss Rodriguez and gave her the files—the files that she wished she understood. She was getting so confused and things were getting scary. Wish she knew how to do whatever she had to. She wasn’t sure if this was exactly the one she wanted. She closed her eyes and opened it. And was still there—she really wasn’t dreaming!

To be continued….

She was like someone of importance in there. “Who I am here?” she asked herself.

This is in the next to last paragraph. "Who am I here? is what you meant to say--I think.
