HR Interview Questions for Jobseekers

Jobseekers can prepare themselves by recognizing typical interview questions.

Job seekers must prepare thoroughly to face HR interview. It has been observed that majority of candidates usually have tough time in facing interviews. It is advisable to do some homework before attending the interview. There are some traditional questions which are asked by interviewers. Candidates must be familiar with them and prepare reply according to situation.

For preparing interview, candidates must posses basic traits that all employers want to see in their employees. That are proven track record as achiever, intelligence management "savvy", honesty, integrity, a decent human being, good fit with corporate culture, positive attitude, sense of humor, good communication skills, dedication that is willingness to work extra to achieve excellence, definiteness of purpose, enthusiasm and confident.

Some of the tricky HR questions to face interview are as follows.

  2. Describe our products/services
  3. Explain our company for me
  4. Describe our corporate environment for me
  5. Describe your work methods in comparison to ours?
  6. Do our competitors do things that we should be doing?
  7. Do you have any concerns about working here?
  8. Do you have any questions about (our company?
  9. Do you know how long we have been in business?
  10. Do you know what products we make?
  11. How could you have prevented your (judgmental) errors?
  12. How do you think our company determines success?
  13. How does you present employer communicate with others in your department? Tell me how you found out information about (our/this) company?
  14. Tell me what you know about (our/this) company?
  15. Was there anything your company could have done to be more successful?
  16. What about our company does you like best?
  17. What about your present employer (do/did) you like best?
  18. What advantages do you think our competitors have over us?
  19. What advantages do you think we have over our competitors?
  20. What are the greatest challenges that this company faces?
  21. What concerns do you have about this company?
  22. What direction do you think this company is headed in?
  23. What do you dislike about our company?
  24. What do you know about this company?
  25. What do you know about this operation?
  26. What do you know about our competitors?
  27. What do you know about our customers?

  36. What do you think it takes to be successful in a company like ours?
  37. What do you think it takes to be successful in our company?
  38. What do you think the atmosphere here is like?
  39. What is the financial stability of your last company?
  40. What questions do you have about our organization?
  41. What would make someone successful in our business?
  42. What is the (best/worst) thing you have heard about (our/this) company?
  43. What is the (best/worst) thing you have heard about (our/this) department?

Another Set of Questions

  1. Tell why you are well qualified for the position. Before candidate answer this question it's very important that he must try to discover his interviewer's greatest need, problem or goal.
  2. What are your greatest strengths? While preparing for interview, candidate should have a specific example or two, which illustrates strength.
  3. What are your greatest weaknesses?

When candidates are appearing for an interview in an MNC, they require two main skills that are good confidence and a good personality. Questions are generally the same as in other companies. The questions are focused on family background and candidate's approach to solve problems. They also put more emphasis on fluency in English.

If candidate has thorough knowledge and zeal to perform better, there are more chances of selection in MNC. Reply for all questions must be impressive and precise.
