Lose Weight by Combining the Big Three

When you combine all three facets of exercise and nutrition you can turn your body into a fat burning machine.

Losing weight with proper exercise and nutrition has many benefits that go far beyond just looking and feeling good. Although that is the main reason why many of us do it in the first place. Maybe its to get into smaller jeans, or put that dress on that you bought 6 years ago.

Regardless of those great reasons, losing weight with proper nutrition and exercise also adds every and any health benefit you can think of. For starters, a good cardio routine helps keep the blood flowing properly, strengthens the heart and studies have shown it increases your lung capacity which allows you to breathe easier when your body is at rest.

A good weight training routine helps stimulate muscle growth, increases strength, raises your metabolism (I will talk more about that a little bit later), and helps with skeletal strength and so much more. Your metabolism is the rate at which your body burns those pesky fat stores. As you can see if you can build your metabolism to burn at a high rate while your body is at rest, you can accelerate your weight loss.

With every weight training and cardio routine you should without a doubt implement a healthy nutrition plan. It is not as hard as you think, it just takes some discipline. You will want to eat six meals a day or about one meal every two and half hours. Plan ahead by preparing your meals in advance. This helps save time as you can not predict what you will encounter throughout the week. Set about an hour or so aside on the same night every week. For me it is Sunday evenings. This is the time I get my breakfasts, lunches and dinners ready for the next seven days. My other three meals in between are considered my snack meals where I will eat from a pouch of tune with a piece of fruit and a small salad made up of greens.

Do you cardio routine for no more than 20 minutes, 3 days a week. Just make sure it is vigorous. Your weight routine should be about 30 to 45 minutes hitting all the major muscle groups. As for your meals make sure each meal has proteins, carbohydrates and green vegetables. Combine all three of these together and you will be well under way to healthy new you.

Just remember to get a complete physical from your health care physician prior to starting any health program.

Great reminder. I need to get back to my fitness program! Lately, I have not been as disciplined as before, since I seem to be gaining a bit more weight.
