There is no question that if you want to lose weight you have to eat a healthy nutritious diet, add in some exercises and drink plenty of water. Separately each will help you lose some weight, but together your body will crank up your metabolism and become a fat burning machine.
To start, get your eating habits under control. You should be eating six meals each day. Yes that is right, I said six! However, these six meals will be smaller in size and contain nutritional foods.
You will want to eat one mean every two and half hours throughout the day and each meal should consist of equal portions of high quality protein (chicken breast, fish, lean meats), carbohydrates (potato, brown rice, oatmeal, fruit), and green vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, spinach). Each portion size should be the same size as your clenched fist.
With each meal you should drink ten ounces of water, and then sip water throughout the day. Water, which makes up a large portion of your body, is good for you. It is essential to a lot of your bodily functions including removing those pesky fat cells, Now that you have your nutrition plan underway and have filtered in your water, get going on an exercise program.
I recommend working out with weights no less than three days per week, for no more than 45 minutes per session and no less than 30 minutes. Your workouts should be short and vigorous, and should each muscle group, i.e., chest, triceps, back, biceps, legs, shoulders and abdominals.
Start off slow so you do not over exert yourself and risk potential injury. Every six weeks you should change up your routine by adding in some exercises and using new ones. This helps your body get through those plateaus.
Just remember as with all health, nutrition and exercise programs, you should see your primary care physician for a complete physical prior to starting.
