Get Into Shape, Shed Those Extra Pounds

Here are few tips to lose your weight and get back to shape.

1. Add a teaspoon of honey and lemon juice to 1 glass of warm water. Drink it as the first thing in the morning. This helps in reducing the extra fat.

2. Boil 4 to 5 pods of garlic in 1 glass of milk and drink it in the night. This helps in removing the excess cholesterol in the body.

3. Reduce intake of foods that are high in carbohydrate. For example, reduce the intake of rice. If you could, you can substitute brown rice for white rice.  Go for Rotis/Whole grain bread instead of rice.

4. Eat plenty of fruits but avoid eating bananas.

5. If you dont have time to go for a walk, then climb the stairs 5 to 6 times a day. This is a good cardio activity, which will help you to shed weight easily.

6. Finger millet is an ideal food for the obese, because it takes longer time to digest due to which, the carbohydrates in the body take a longer time to be absorbed. By eating preparations made of finger millet, the constant desire to eat is curbed, thus reducing the daily calorie intake.

7. Have raw or cooked cabbage as it inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat.

8. Avoid consuming foods that contain excess salt and sugar as it may be a factor for increasing body weight.

9. Intake of high-fat products like cheese, butter, fried foods, oil, meat should be avoided.

10. Avoid potatoes, which contain a lot of carbohydrates.

11. Instead of eating only 3 full meals, it is advisable to eat 4-5 small mini-meals every 2-3 hours.

12. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily to avoid fluid retention. Drink a glass of boiled water daily after every meal.

13. Last but not least, do as much work as you can. Be it laundry, ironing clothes, cleaning the house, moping the floor, do it yourself. This way you can burn a lot of calories rather than working out in a gym..
