Do-It-Yourself Wedding

Cheap and easy wedding planning.

Weddings now a days are very expensive. I'm sure most of you have found that out. So I'm going to try and help you by giving you some cheap and easy ideas to have a beautiful wedding for less.

First try planning your wedding at least a year in advance that gives you time to find everything you need for cheap.

Second if your having a church wedding try to get that out of the way thats usually the most expensive thing you will have to get. If your not using a church try calling the county offices for local parks to rent by the hour its sometimes cheaper to do it that way.

Third move on to flowers, keep your eyes open on your local craft stores when flowers are out of season they go on sale. If your a crafty person you could even do your own bouquets and boutonnières it takes a lot of time and patience but its cheaper. Even try looking at dollar stores.

Forth decorations you can also find these items at dollar stores a lot for dollar stores are carrying wedding supplies now nothing fancy but if your crafty you can make a little go a long way.

and finally wedding attire thrift stores, goodwill, and salvation army stores are good places to find wedding dresses and the wedding party attire for cheap you can find wedding gowns starting at $100.00.

I hope what i have shared has helped as much as i did for me good luck!

I had my wedding at a local community center. There was a small-ish but still nice reception hall with an adjacent private garden where we had the ceremony. It was very nice and cheap!

I was going to use fake flowers and make my own bouquets. Instead I hunted around and found florists who work from home. They are *much* cheaper than retail floral shops and work hard to give you what you want, with just as beautiful results. I got centerpieces for the head table and five dining tables, my bouquet with tossing bouquet, the maid of honor\'s bouquet, four boutonnieres, and small bouquets for both mothers, all for about $120, or as much as you\'d spend on just a modest bride\'s bouquet at a major chain. And honestly, you\'d probably spend that much in fake flowers trying to do it yourself. She even gave me the leftover roses and I stripped off the petals for the flower girl basket. Save yourself the stress and headache and hire someone for this part. I\'m glad I did.

The same goes for photographers. We had everyone take pictures, but also found a girl on MySpace who was a local budding photographer. She took hundreds of pictures using non-traditional and exciting poses and techniques, and she only requested a donation! We gave her $80.00 for four hours, the only pitfall was that this didn\'t include any prints or anything, just a cd of the pictures. Still a great deal!

We put all of the pictures we liked onto a cd and sent those to friends and loved ones instead of printing out hundreds of photos. Another great way to save money!

I definitely used the dollar stores for favors and decorations! You can get bubbles there, which I just hot-glued a little fabric rose to each, table covers, plates/cups, etc... For candy favors I was lucky enough to find some foil wrapped chocolates that were on sale after Easter at the local grocery store. I just snapped up as many bags as I could, spent about $8, picked out the ones that were wrapped in purple foil (one of my colors), put them in little organza drawstring bags (very cheap at any craft store like Michael\'s or Joann), tied them and embellished with a little double heart charm. Voila! Candy favors.

Ask friends and family for help! They will likely be honored to contribute!

My new in-laws made the food and my new sister in law made the cake as their wedding gifts to us, so all that was free! My grandmother in law made beautiful table runners out of a fabric I bought, so it dressed up the plastic tablecloths from the dollar store nicely. Everyone that attended helped in some way, either with their skills or money. Everyone was honored for their efforts and everyone \"felt the love\"!
