Free Stuff Hunting
When I started to surf the internet, I have always been in search of free items including free anti-virus soft wares (for I’ve had a problem with viruses in my USB), free manga (Japanese comics, I like to read these especially Naruto, Bleach, and Detective Conan), free web hosts (though I’ve never finished a website!), and lots of other free stuffs. I would like to enumerate my experiences and discoveries with these free stuffs for the sake of sharing them:
Free Web Hosts: I’ve tried creating a website. I’ve even studied some Php for the sake of this! But unfortunately I never finished a good website. But there was nothing to lose: I have a free web host and I’ll lose nothing if I study Php or HTML. And disgracingly, I can’t remember most of these things I thought I’ve learned.
Free mp3 Music: When I was given an iPod, I downloaded tons of free music from the internet. There’s no harm in this except that some songs were mysteriously and enthusiastically “re-mixed.” But it’s free stuff so there’s no room for my complaints. I’ve enjoyed the re-mixed songs anyway.
Free games: If you think this is a cinch, you’re damn wrong. (Or was I just really naïve?) I’ve downloaded three games. The process made me wait. And arriving home, I was surprised that I ought to buy these items via the internet after an hour of gaming. So they were just free trials, huh? I’ve not read the tiny “This is just a free trial” mark beside the download link. Very well, I’ll just have to be contented with no games at all rather than having neither these so-called free trials nor the absolutely free kid’s games from the internet.
Free manga: I didn’t encounter any problems with these. You may even download them for free.
Free Antivirus soft wares: With these, I downloaded once again a free trial. At first, at an internet café, I thought that it was working well because it scanned the computer there without any problems. (And I’ve downloaded it from a site that stated that it was free.) But when I inserted it in our computer, It scanned- yes it did- our computer and said “Threats detected. Please buy our free anti virus program through the internet for deletion.” Are modern anti-virus soft wares really made to scan only a virus-free computer? Well, I’ve downloaded another just now. I wish that it will delete the viruses of our computer. (But I think it is safer to purchase sold soft wares. But I’ll just strike while the iron’s hot for now.)
With these examples, we have disproved the saying “You may no longer find any free things here on Earth.”
