I had been looking for quite some time now for a magic supplies store here in the Philippines and finally I was able to find some in different malls around Metro Manila. One is “Gian's Magic” the other is “It's Magic”.
Gian's magic is located in various malls here in Metro Manila. One is currently at Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa and the other is in Shopwise Cubao in Araneta Center. Both sells magic apparatus mostly from China and apparently their products are quite good.
Gian's magic in Alabang Town Center sells also puzzles, pranks and gags. Their staff is friendly and accommodating. If you're a beginning magician it's good to buy your stuff there because the tricks are really designed for beginners and the prices are quite reasonable for basic tricks. Also they might give you a discount if you try haggling with them.
Their branch in Shopwise Cubao however is quite different from the first one. It is located in a smaller space and it's not that noticeable simply because it looks like all the other shops near it. Unless you see a magician performing you really wouldn't notice their shop immediately. They are selling the same products as in the other branches but still their product range is not for professional level magicians.
Another magic shop is "It's Magic" located in SM North EDSA. Their shop is quite hard to find especially that it is located in a quite confusing section of the mall that is the cinemas. SM North's cinemas are actually divided into two sections both found at the opposite ends of the mall. Since the cinema lobbies look the same it is really confusing to find shops near their cinemas.
Their product range is really very extensive. Almost everything that a magician from any level would need could be found at their shop. Problem is that they sell their stuff way too expensive that I would rather buy the same stuff online. Apparently the reason for their expensive prices is, first all products that they sell are imported. Secondly they only sell not the product itself but also the secret behind it. For example if you're going to buy from them a basic cups and ball set (A very small one indeed)it would come along with an instruction manual on how to do at least one trick. Well if you're a magician and just looking for a new set to replace your old one you would have to buy its secret that you might have already known a long time ago.
Hopefully I could visit more magic shops here in the Philippines so that I could find the best products at the best prices. For only the best items should be use for by the best magicians.
