Roads are Confusing
I know, it probably never happens to you, but some people get lost. Especially driving somewhere you've never been. It happens to people every single day. Living near Detroit, I value my cell phone when I'm lost. I feel so much safer calling up someone I know rather than walking into a run down gas station alone.
Stuff Happens
Nothing is perfect, and that includes your car. Before cell phones, when your car broke down it took either a lot of walking or waiting to get help or try to contact your insurance company (like AAA for support).
People Need You
That's right, you're important! Not to get personal on you, but before my mom got a cell phone sitting around wondering when she was getting home or needing to tell her to pick up a gallon of milk was so frustrating! I hear complaints about people getting too used to bothering you. I have news- cell phone's have power buttons!
You Need People
Admit it already, you need people. This is taken from the perspective of my mom, now. While I'm wishing I could tell her to get milk, she's wishing she could tell me she has company coming over and I better get out of my pajamas. It's called practicality, and in these times, practicality is a cell phone.
It's So Much More Than a Phone!
Yes, you can call and make calls. You can also surf the net, send and receive messages, send and receive e mail, take pictures and get pictures, and a lot more. No more missing assignments or meetings, because your phone will most likely have a calendar. And, no excuses for being late for work, it comes with an alarm clock as well. You're not just investing in a mobile phone, but you're investing in a device that will make life so much easier.
