New Technology comes out quicker than most people can keep up with and the newest on the scene is the Samsung Instinct by gracing us with their TV commercials. Along with many other competitive smartphones, the instinct comes with a wide variety of features for their customers including a few items like touchscreen, internet, and Bluetooth. So what does the Instinct really come with?
Only weighting in at 4.4 ounces, the instinct comes with the advanced responsive touchscreen responding not only to your touch, but also works with stylus. The onscreen QUERTY keyboard can be easily switched between landscape or portrait mode. There is email and instant messaging, but it doesn't have predictive text input or push to talk. A built in full HTML browser makes it easier to surf the web. With digital Dual Band, you can upload, download, browse and send picture with high speed wireless internet. You won't find outlook sync or PC sync application with the new Instinct though.
Watching TV anywhere is an Instinct ability with Sprint Power Vision Services. This service isn't limited to watching live TV, but downloading music, checking mail, and more, yet podcasting isn't available with the Instinct. Other media options include the Instinct's full multimedia functionality so you can listen to music while you text or pause when a call comes in. Mp3 ringtones are not available, but it is music store enabled and 72 polyphonic ringtones with a music library. Receiving a call announce while using your stereo Bluetooth headset makes going wireless for your music and phone calls easier.
The Instinct also makes it easy for you to take and share pictures and videos with the built in 2.0 megapixel camera and camcorder. Afterwards, you can go back through pictures and videos in a thumbnail mode or in filmstrip mode for larger previews. The memory with the Instinct to be able to run all your media includes a user memory of 2GB microSD card and external Memory up to 10MB. If you notice that you are lost while taking all those pictures, you have GPS navigation and search using Live Search.
Personal and Business management is a little different. Instinct has room for 600 phone book entries with up to 7 contacts. While you will find a calendar, world time, voice memo, and voicemail, this smartphone doesn't have a document viewer, mobile printing, or file explorer. Whether you go Bluetooth or speakerphone, Instinct has 5.75 hours of talk time for those long conversations. Just don't look for voice recognition or video caller ID.
While Instinct doesn't have a few items some people might be looking for, it does have great abilities for email, instant messages, or TV. Listening to your music or taking pictures of the cute person next to you are all great features for the Instinct. As a general smartphone, you have most of what any person is looking for, but I wouldn't suggest it for personal and business management.
