When Apple introduced the Apple iPhone cell phone to the general public in June, there were many who lined up to get their hands on the revolutionary gadget. Unfortunately, it came only as it was, without any accessories save a charger.
However, it is possible to buy accessories for the iPhone, perhaps the most important one being a case. If you're like me, you drop your phone a lot. Therefore the a protective case for your iPhone will keep your investment safe and sound. After all, wouldn't it just suck if you dropped your unprotected iPhone? You'd be out at least $499 (not including tax)
Because the iPhone uses touch-screen technology, it’s especially susceptible to dust and scratches and this brings us to our first form of protection:
The Screen Protector
The Apple iPhone cell phone screen protector is exactly what it sounds like: a piece of flexible silicone that fits over your screen. There’s usually a hole cut out of it so you can access the primary navigation button located at the bottom of the screen. This is only the first line of defense when protecting your iPhone, however.
The iPhone “skin”
A “skin” is simply a piece of silicone that is the size and shape of your iPhone to allow it to fit perfectly over it. Some of them even have a screen protector included with it so you won’t have to shell out the extra few bucks to buy one. While there are a variety of skins available to add a sort of fashion sense to your iPhone, they’re not very durable if you drop it. Which brings us to our third and so far the final form of defense (that is, until Mr. Jobs provides us with a titanium iPhone case!).
The Wallet
The wallet is simply a leather case you can hook to your belt, offering a limited form of protection from the elements and can even give you some protection if you happen to drop it. I wouldn’t test that last statement though. Don’t go flinging your iPhone on the ground just to see if the wallet works!
Well, there you have it. The three main forms of protection for your brand spanking new Apple iPhone cell phone. I hope it was helpful for you and happy iphoning!
