Nintendo Wii: Top Things to Know to Buy Want a Wii

Where is the best place to buy one? It seems everyone wants a Wii and yet they are no where to be found. Here are my top three places to find yourself a Wii and get the best deal.

This article is for people that want to own a Nintendo Wii and would like to know more. I'm going to give you some important information you need to know to buy a Wii , and additional things you might want to purchase.

Retail Stores

It may seem like whenever you go out to buy one, no one has them in stock. My advice is to call all the local retailers in your city, ask when they should be getting a new shipment, mark your calendar, and show up bright and early. The key here is to call ahead and show up early, because when stores do get a shipment, its very likely they sell out within a couple of hours. If you have to, call the stores that may even be a little far away, chances are someone is bound to be getting some in and retail stores are guaranteed to give you the best price.

eBay

If you'd rather make it easier on yourself in the search process, the next best place to look is eBay. Some sellers will have a buy-it-now price, but most will have auctions. Many will have deals where they'll give you extra controllers or some games. And because they often have choices between new and used, you can almost always get a decent price. One thing to watch out for is shipping. The good thing about Ebay is that usually, they are independent sellers and now that Ebay changed feedback rules, sellers cannot give buyers negative feedback. So don't be afraid to look up accurate shipping costs on USPS, FedEx, or other websites and haggle with the sellers on the fairest shipping costs.

Online Retailers

And last but not least, if the first two options don't appeal to you, you can always find one online. They will generally come in bundles, but be warned, you will probably be paying above and beyond the actual price. Not to mention you won't be able to negotiate shipping. Nonetheless, this is still a great way to purchase one because you will almost always find exactly what you're looking for, and you don't have to wait for it to be in stock or the auction to end.

Okay, now you've got yourself a Wii. Do you need to buy anything else? If you're just purchasing the console package, it usually comes with Wii Sports, one Wii controller, and a nunchuk. My advice is to go ahead and buy additional Wii controllers and possibly a charging stand. Wii controllers, if you use them a lot, will suck down the batteries nearly as bad as a digital camera. A good way to get an extra controller is to buy Wii Play because not only do you get the game, but a controller comes with it, and you'd be paying a lot less than buying a game and controller separately.

Hopefully this information will help you in your search to purchase a Nintendo Wii.
