What I Use My Phone For:
- My phone has various uses namely:
- It is a mini laptop
- It is a musical device
- It is a communication device for multimedia possibilities.
- It is a radio and television gadget.
- It is my organizer
- It is my calendar etc.
Other Uses
It is therefore useful in linking my online colleagues and in performance of many educational activities. It is now my companion in almost on all educational activities and meetings mostly through the Internet. I embrace it as a handy companion that gives me all that I need in communication of all kinds. We are in friendly attachment to each other, inseparable and may be indispensable. To crown it all I could store as much items as possible for archiving and retrieval. We are faced in Nigeria with challenges of good flash drives. Many brands in the market are of poor qualities, I bought several of them and found out that one (1) gigabyte (GB) capacity will corrupt an additional files after the stored contents exceeds about seven (7) megabytes (MB).
My phone comes handy with one (1) gigabyte memory card that will not corrupt files even to full capacity, I could download as much as I want and as well as browse with it on the go.
There are many phones in the market but I made my choice wisely because of my specific needs. Although I have a camcorder that takes still and motion pictures, record audio and video events but because of its size (although not too big) I could not use it to do some important recordings I like to make. In Nigeria, the city of Lagos where I leave there are interesting scenes that I like to record at bus stops. My camcorder will be smashed if I use it in such circumstance. My phone comes to rescue and I have been able to record some important events that bring to notice of government some happenings that needed to be addressed.
Right in the public bus I could sit in the comfort of my seat and record anything of interest at those spots without fear of anybody dragging or smashing it.
Prior to this time, I call a photographer to take a shot of some research procedures in my laboratory. I have to wait most times for our schedules to fit in. Because he uses analogue camera many shots have to be taken and sometimes procedures repeated in order to have good pictures that will be scan for quality reprint in a journal.
This cost time, money, and precious materials to finally get a good collection that will serve the purpose.
Although my camcorder meets these needs but not that of shots at bus stop which is my service to my community. My phone has made the difference because of its handiness and unsuspected recordings.
Lest I forget I need to leave you with this: my phone is handy, that is not all, and it is easy to use such that within few minutes my son could manipulate it with less difficulty.
