I had this trick on how to remove scratches, it was taught to me by my dad. I was playing Halo 2 and the disk was scratched and it started freezing. How did I fix it? Well here it goes.
Scratched CD’s or DVD’s are a pain but if you think it is "game over" for the disk, you may have to think again. You don’t have to go out and buy expensive scratch removers or anything. All you have to do is apply toothpaste on the disk and rub.
I know what your thinking, "Toothpaste?" Yes toothpaste. You have to use plain toothpaste not the flavored one, or the one with flavor crystals. Just apply the toothpaste, rub where the scratch is and, wash it off. Notice that you disk may have small tiny scratches. That’s because of the little portion of the crystals that add flavor. Just pop the disk in and it’ll work like new!
There you have it, a cheap and easy way to remove scratches. I use this method all the time. Its really effective.
