This guide will tell you how to remove all the default sounds and pictures from your Motorola V3 phone. They are locked so you cannot delete from the phone. It will free up more space on your phone. This will void your warranty if you still have it because it is considered modding your phone. If anything goes wrong, I am not responsible. You are doing this at your own risk.
You will need P2KCommander to remove the default items. You can download it here. You have to click on the anchor icon near the bottom of the first boat to download. Once installed, plug in your phone. You need to have the necessary drivers installed on your computer for your phone to recognise it. You can download the drivers here. To install the drivers, just plug in your phone and a Window should eventually pop up and tell you to install drivers. Just include the folder in which the drivers you downloaded are located in the search and it will complete. Wait for P2KCommander to recognise your phone. It will say something like "Switched to V3 mode." Open the P2KCommander window. At the top left corner near the "File" button there should be a drop down menu. Click on that and choose P2K mobile phone. Wait for the files to load. Go into the drive and then proceed to "Mobile." Once in "Mobile," go to either pictures or sounds, whichever you want to start with. In pictures folder, leave the pictures named Moto, Silver and Scarlet if you want to have those skin backgrounds and screensavers. In sounds, you should only delete the ones with names starting with "Alert." Just be careful when doing this not to delete anything you don't know of. It may damage your phone.
