These are the things phone companies keep forgetting to add:
1. Making All Phones Waterproof
No matter how high-tech, thin, and fancy cell phones are becoming, most if not all of them are not waterproof. You could wave your new razor or iPhone in your friends face all day long and rant on about all the special features it has. But if your hand slips while you're in the bathroom or if you forget to take it out of your pants before putting it in the washer, the once web surfing, picture taking, and message sending phone is nothing more than a piece of broken plastic. If they can make watches waterproof then creating waterproof phones should be a step away.
2. Crack Resistant Surfaces
If you have seen the new iPhone or any another fancy phone models. You would instantly admire their sleekness and shine. But just like that new car smell, the shine becomes faded and worn and the shape no longer amuses you. But on thing that hasn't changed from the time you first held that phone in your hand is the fact that if it is accidentally dropped. You'll find your phone ridden with cracks and scratches and sometimes it may even break completely!
Of course there is the option to buy those worrisome phone covers, but that is just more time and money off your hands. A simple rubber like cover should be a part of all phones being sold. Not only would they be scratch free but you would be provided with a much better grip.
3. Less Sensitive Touch Screens
Nowadays more and more phones come with touch screen ability. Now the user can simply use their fingers to tap out numbers or write an e-mail or message with a full key board. But good things always come with a negative. For those of you who own a touch screen phone yourself. How many times did you call a person simply because your jeans decided to try out that snazzy touch screen ability for itself? Normally this wouldn't be such a hassle but sometimes you just end up calling the wrong people at the wrong time.
A solution to this would be to put a protective cover over the touch screen so that more force would need to be applied in order to issue a command. It's not that hard to do but few companies choose to do it.
4. Satellite Connection Ability
Normally you shouldn't have to ask NASA for permission to call your friend. But let's say you're stuck in the middle of Alabama and your car refuses to work for reasons you simply cannot understand. You pull out your fabulous 500 dollar cell phone and what does it say? No service. At that moment you finally realize that all the little gadgets and gizmo your phone has is completely useless.
All phones should have the ability to connect to a satellite for the user to send out a distress call in case of an emergency. Of course if phone companies wish to get picky, then they can feel free to charge outrageous rates for using this feature. But just knowing that no matter where you are you will always have contact with the outside world is a comfort worth paying for.
5. An Emergency Power Supply
An emergency power supply doesn't mean more batteries. It simply means that the phone would turn off 10 or maybe 20 minutes before the battery is completely depleted. You would have the option to turn it back on and drain your cell phones remaining power or keep it off in case you need to use the remaining energy in an emergency.
Other than emergency situations this extra power supply can give you a chance to correct misunderstandings. It wouldn't look too well if a phone call was cut off because you ran out of batteries. Especially if it was an important call from your boss, this feature would allow you to call back and explain the sudden cut off without suffer consequences of calling back 30 minuets later.
