Computers and Sales People

Computer scammers and people that might con you out off money when you buy computers or hardware.

Have you ever gone into a computer store wanting to buy a computer and had the sales person tell that it is a really good deal and that you find anywhere else? Did you believe the person? If that has ever happened to you, you should listen to this speech. I'm going to tell you everything that you will need to know about computers.

To start of I will tell you about computer part. This includes the RAM, the microprocessor, the hard disk and the optical drive. I will also tell you how much it would cost to leave your computer on for one year.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. You activate this drive by typing in certain key words. The RAM then opens up the files that are described as the key word or words. You can then narrow down the search files by typing in more specific words.

A microprocessor, which is about the same size as this eraser, can hold up to 157 gigabytes of memory. The microprocessor is also called the CPU, or central processing unit. This part is the brain of the computer. It operates all of the computers functions.

The hard disk holds all of the memory. When you're ready to donate or recycle your computer you should break the hard disk because if someone has the proper software they can un-delete your files.

The optical drive works your screen and burns or copies CD's or DVD's. A DVD is very durable but any scratches could potentially mess it up. CD's and DVD's work by the same means. When you put a CD or DVD into a computer or DVD player a tiny needle extracts the information from the CD or DVD and plays or shows it to you. Then the needle puts all of the information back on the disk for re-use.

If you have ever wondered how much money you would have to pay to leave and electronic device plugged in and turned on would cost. It would cost you over 500 dollars per month.

After all that I have just told you, you must think that I was just telling you about computers. The main point of my speech is to tell all of you computer buyers to look out. I'm saying this because if you buy a computer you should at least know what the sales person is talking about instead of just nodding your head and saying “ok”.

A sales person can easily sell you extra parts or warranty that you wouldn't need if they waned to get some more money from you. They would sell more products and get more money while you get something that you don't need and lose money. In order to prevent this from happening to you, you should become an educated buyer.

To be an educated consumer you should look up what you are going to buy and why. When you go into a store and ask to buy a computer give the sales person a price range and basic idea of what you would need the computer for. Say you buy a computer just to surf the Internet and to exchange e-mails with friends. If that's all you want to do then there would no point in buying a high-end computer and a laser printer. If you plan on typing up essays and downloading huge files of music then you should buy an advanced computer.

I have just told you the basics about computers and everything that you would need to know in order not to spend extra money on computer software and warranty that you might not need. So remember, the next time you need to buy a computer go and look up what the part that you need will do to the computer and if you would actually need it.
