The new Apple App Store is great but it is only great to a point. The new app store offers nice apps that are free such a face book and myspace mobile, but they have the best apps out of reach for most people who would like to conserve money or cant afford them. The cost of apps is ridiculous. I have already paid $20 for some apps that I later found don't even do anything for me and where a waste of time and money.
An alternative to this is to jailbreak your Ipod. I am not sure if jail breaking is illegal but it gives you the app store and apps for free. It takes some time to get and they have videos on you tube that you can watch to learn how to do it. A down side to this is that there are different versions of ipod firmware and some apps only work for that firmware so you don't have the opportunity to get all the apps that you want. It isn't bad though but to get it off you have to format your ipod.
The only thing I like about the app store is that it is quick and easy. The app store does have some free apps and they can be great but the main ones are pricey. The app store is also a place of revenue witch is why they cost money. For 60 or so dollars you can get an app creator from apple and if you make a good app apple will put it on the app store and sell it for you so you can make profits.
