The Holiday Season brings tens of thousands of electronics into the view of the hungry people who want them. Cell phones, Computers, and especially Mp3-Players have been at the top of many a person's "Must-Have" list, and now that the season is officially over, it's time to rack up on reviews about the various goodies that snuck into Christmas stockings this year.
The one dazzling diamond that I received was a new Samsung YP-P2, one of the latest creations by the world's leading electronics and information technology company. Though iPods have been the wishes of many, I sought for an alternative that could possibly be even better. Looking through the Zune and Creative Zen brands on various review sites, it was the P2 that caught my eye. Since getting it, I haven't been disappointed by the product. The only factor I did have trouble with was the lack of support for the product, and the lack of an actual manual for the MP3-player. In spite of this, the P2 really shines in the many qualities it has, which definitely outweigh the minor troubles I'd received at first.
The biggest feature the P2 holds is a touch screen and the lack of any other controls. There are buttons at the sides for turning the power on and off, a hold control, and volume control. That's all the buttons there are on this player, the rest of which being on the screen. This is a nifty feature, especially with how easy it is to access whatever you want. It can't possibly compare to the fluid capability of the i-Touch, and sometimes it takes another press to access something, but the touch screen is a very powerful tool on the P2, one that needs to be acknowledged and admired in an age where buttons are becoming obsolete.
Another important feature is the ability to customize your listening experience. It is through this quality that the P2 really outshines other Mp3-players. It's the sole purpose that I myself wanted the P2, with various DNSe that varies from different themes like "Rock" and "Dance", and then a User-based one, which allows you to set up 7 equalizers to your liking, as well as 3D sound and Bass. It personalizes what you like to hear in a song, and really makes for one heck of a listening euphoria when it all comes down to it!
The P2 is a worthy adversary to the iPod and other popular Mp3-brands. It has a built-in alarm, calender, world clock, and radio. Everything is neat and orderly, and any pictures that you transfer to the P2 is capable of acting as a unique desktop as well. The radio is a useful feature as well, since only some brands have added that into their own Mp3-players. Also to be noted is the picture, which shows movies better than my own computer at home!
The only problem I ever had with the P2 was the lack of support for the product. Though I've never had any terrible problems with the product, the user manual was useless in figuring out why my files were disappearing. The most it showed was how to transfer files onto the P2. The website was of no help either, with being both difficult to navigate, as well as not providing a public forum of sorts to look for other problems that people I've had. Since I haven't really had any huge troubles though, I don't mind, but the knowledge that support would be given would have been nice.
Either way you look at it, the P2 is something special, an alternative to the iPod craze. It has plenty of features to keep any person entertained, and with it's easy interface and incredible capabilities, every listen on the P2 would be as if you were hearing your favorite songs for the very first time, crystal clear and as perfect as can be.
