The two most popular vehicles are the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. When purchasing a car what do you look for? Is it price, design, gas mileage, or safety? Well let me tell you that these two cars are very close in all those categories.
Both are beautifully designed. Modern looking cars perfect for anyone. Will not matter if you are 18 or 81 years old these cars will fit you and your lifestyle.
Horsepower
The 2008 Honda Accord comes standard with the 177 horsepower motor, while the 2009 Toyota Camry comes with the 268 horsepower motor. As far as speed the Camry beats out the Accord with the more powerful motor.
Gas Mileage
On the other hand bigger motor means less gas mileage. The Accord promises 31 MPG highway, and the Camry provides 28 MPG highway.
Safety
The safety features are the same: both vehicles provide 4 wheel anti-lock disc brakes, and dual front and side curtain airbags.
Warranty
The warranty is also the same. The Accord and Camry come with Bumper to bumper Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The power train warranty is 5 years or 60,000 miles.
Price
Price wise these two cars are not very far apart. The Accord's suggested retail price is $20,360 for the standard features, and the Camry is a little less at $18,720. Not much of a difference if you consider that with the Honda Accord your getting better gas mileage.
My own opinion is the Camry is the better buy. Believe it or not I am a Honda fan through and through, have never owned a Toyota but have owned many Hondas. However, the Camry has a more powerful motor and cheaper price.
