Time is a manmade concept. Unlike refined sugar when we run out, we cannot stop by the neighbors to borrow a cup to tide us over. When time runs out, it is totally out. Scientists are saying that the rotation of the moon will one day cause its destruction. That will not happen in my present lifetime, but it will happen in a manmade measurement of time. In even a greater chunk of this manmade standard approximately 5 billion years from now the Sun will grow fat and red while consuming the earth and closer planets.
A reality of time, space and man
Members of the science community guarantee us that one way or another this planet is a goner. We have so many options. We can kill ourselves off with waging wars over land that will not exist someday. We can slowly kill the planet with pollution, which is the same as killing ourselves off. Or we can wait to be vaporized by a natural event killing us all equally in a sort of mass barbecue. The reality is one way or another "webegone" will be more than a slang expression. In some form, time will run out for the human race on this planet.
The problems with keeping up the race
Political interests and procrastination are the two major obstacles to securing the future for humankind's survival. No matter what we do in this world, we are guaranteed someone with a political agenda will offer help by interfering. Sometimes they even are well meaning. Yet, for all they do, they inhibit the process. As for procrastination, it is the way of man common or uncommon. Forget the planet is going to die off or vaporize, we can always find something more immediate to absorb our attention. I understand the logical of "but it is million and billions of years away." We have to be honest with ourselves, waiting for the last minute isn't going to cut in this situation. In order to circumvent the future of nature, we have to circumvent the nature of man. The suggestion of killing off the political interest people and lighting a fire under everyone else's butt is an intriguing answer.
Why should we be so concerned?
In the long haul manmade measurement of time, we will be long gone with most of the scenarios with the exception of self-annihilation. We have the power to do that at anytime. Therefore, we will not consider that option. I have a reason why we should be concerned today about the 5 billion year tomorrow. It must be considered as valid because this reason has not been proven or disproved. It remains a strong possibility. The reason is one word, reincarnation.
Why reincarnation?
There are so many clues to the possibility that either we all or some of us come back in another life. Past life regression therapy has shown this may be an existing cycle of our living energy. There has been documented evidence of people recalling what may have been a past life. Now, some believe that reincarnation is not just limited to human. It may be something that connects all living things. Personally, I believe if this ideology is true, it is ladder thing with man being the top rung. As our living source goes up the ladder it brings with it traces of its past living experiences. All of us have experienced one of the more obvious clues. Simply, we have all come across someone who has traits of a snake, hyena, or other of natures living beings. I would say the most common and easiest to pick out is the reincarnated donkey. Everybody knows at least one possible candidate. There is much evidence to uphold the reincarnation theory of life as a probable to consider.
With that in mind
We might begin to think about the future and our options. Finding another planet suitable for life is one task. Another task would be finding a feasible way to get there. I suggest we tap the reality show sector to help us. Think about how we could benefit from the lessons learned from the new season of "Survivor: Moon." It will be a stepping into the right direction with so many advantages. One, the money spent on the show would not be wasted on mindless entertainment. Two, the time spent watching it would be a progression in looking toward the future. Three, it will grab a proven audience.
Don't stop there.
A revamped reality show would be "Armed and Famous," which could contribute to advancing the cause. In the new re-imagination of the concept, the once famous has-beens can vie on a show centered on the lunar clean up aftermath of "Survivor: Moon." They will be armed with technology to recycle the waste and debris left behind. They will have to draw lots to see which method they have to train and work with. Together, the two shows would serve to develop the audience's consciousness of our place in the world and the universe.
The point is governments would not have to waste taxpayer's money to fund the research. The money will come from the entertainment industry itself. The industry has unlimited resources of income. If the ventures become too expensive, they can draw upon the dollars wasted in celebrity swag at events and in high powered star pampering. Those sources alone could more than likely fuel the end to world poverty along with off world research projects.
As the song goes, time keeps on slipping, slipping into the future, a future we may or may not be there for. We may just be looking at self-preservation as well as the survival of the species. If we put ii on the politicians, efforts could end in a filibuster. If we wait a little while too long to act ourselves, we may be left scrambling at the last minute. The worse yet scenario could be the cliché of "too little, too late." The person you end up helping in the future may you yourself.
