Some people believe that it is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Some believe that a big city gives you more opportunities. Personally, I happen to think that the country living is the best. And most of those are because of our daughter. If we lived in the city her horse could not be in the front yard. I can yell at her and the neighbors are not going to call the police on us because they can not even hear it. One of the best things I think of for living in the country is that when one or a group of the kids do something that they should not be doing. Before the kids are even home every one with in a 15 mile radius is aware of what happened. Yet to me one of the best parts is the peace and quite. I love sitting on my front porch and hearing absolutely nothing!
One other reason that I think that it is better to live in the country is because of the fresh air. We do not have the cars or the traffic or the smog that a lot of the cities do. Which makes it healthier for us. But even more then that is the stars. You ask why the stars. Have you notice that when you live in the city that you can no longer look up in the sky at night and see the stars? Well you can in the country. And just to let you know, the view is wonderful!
Of course there are some things that the big city are better at. For instance you do not have to drive any great distance to the grocery store. You do not have to travel for a long distance to get your daughter to ballet class, gymnastics, or maybe swimming lessons. Of course living in the country we had to do that for all of our daughters activities. There is no theatre around the corner here nor is there any skating rink close by. And of course in the city most hospitals are closer then an hour away.
The ultimate decision is yours to make. What is important and what is not.
