How to Survive the First Date

How to survive on that crucial first date.

The fate of most relationships lay on the first date; here's how to make sure it goes well.

Do Something Fun

Don't try to make the first date as romantic as you can if you don't know the person very well. You want the other person to see that your fun to be around, and that you can have a good time. You don't want them to think that your extremely serious, and trying to get into their pants on the first date by being too romantic. First off, it's cheesy, secondly, it'll probably get you no where if its only your first date.

Don't Try So Hard

One of the biggest mistakes most people make is trying really hard for the date to work out. Either it'll work or it won't, you can't have anyone forcing the relationship, because that'll just make it worse. When your on the date, don't try to do anything you wouldn't normally. Remember, they said yes, so they obviously like you for what they know about you.

Be Yourself

As said before, don't try to push anything. Most of the time they will be able to see right through your act, so what's the point in trying? Besides, wouldn't you rather be with someone who likes you for you? Starting a relationship off with lies is the worst thing you could do, so don't do it.

Don't Obsess

The night before the date don't try to obsess, imagining exactly how it'll go, or what could go wrong. You'll always be wrong! If you think the date is going to go really well, it might not, so try not to go in with any expectations. One of the most important things you can do is making sure you don't think of all of the things that could go wrong. If you do, it's even more likely that those things could happen. Deal with things one step at a time, and when you're on your date, try not to be obsessive of the other person. It's likely that you barely know them, so you don't want to come off as overly protective.
