Hey! Send us an email if you've got something new, too! We love to hear about how others are wearing their scarves and pashminas.

Scarf around the neck

Wearing scarves around the neck is perhaps one of the most popular uses of the traditional scarf. Many famous scarf designers can make a living out of continually innovating the scarf style and material, making the fashion of wearing a scarf around the neck an continually mod way to accessorize.

Try experimenting with your scarf knot placement. Tie the scarf like a bowtie, looping it in the front. Or leave the loops out of the design and let the scarf fall like a necktie. Moving the knot to the side or even the back tends to add a sense of sophistication to any outfit and creates a smooth neckline, free of knots.

Shawl on the shoulders

In recent years, the practice of wearing a shawl around the shoulders has regained its popularity. Whether you choose a knitted shawl or a knotted shawl, gently drape the shawl around the base of your shoulder blades and tie a knot in the front at your chest. Consider investing in a nice broach or pin to join the two ends of the shawl together. The broach will create a designer affect for not a lot of money.

Pashmina Months

For scarf and shawl lovers, the winter months are set apart from the other months in the year because they are dedicated to the pashmina. The pashmina is typically crafted from cashmere or silk and is about as long as the span of one's arms. Like a scarf, the pashmina is designed to wrap several times around the entire neck, bundling the wearer in warmth and style.

Just waist it!

Scarves make wonderful belts hat add flare to any outfit. Purchase a scarf that is longer than the size of your waist so that you can wrap it all the way around and then finish the look off with a nice tie.

Your scarf belt can have any width that you desire - from the long and slender scarf to the fat, chunky scarf. Play around with a few different styles until you find the style that's right for you!

Tie it Up

Tie a scarf to any handbag or purse to add a colorful flare. Find a scarf that matches the color of your bag and outfit - be it a designer scarf or a quick purchase from a discount store. Our biggest suggestion with scarf ties is that you choose a material other thank silk or cashmere, as silk and cashmere scarves will be ruined if they get dirty and, trust us, the scarves on your bag will get dirty if you wear them for long enough.

Now that you have a few good tips for accessorizing with your scarf and dressing up your outfit, hit the stores and find the styles that you prefer the most. Take the time to match colors, sizes and shapes to the clothes you already have in your wardrobe and to the accessorizing style that fits your sense of style the best. Get out there and have some fun!
