Guys, do you really think fashion is only for girls? Well its not, “a girl can be turned off from what us guys are wearing.” According to Andy Gilchrist, runner of Ask Andy About Clothes.
Below are some of the basic rules for guys and clothing.
- For the teens, look around, what are the “cool” people in you school wearing?
- Buy the essentials: jeans, sweatshirts, khakis, t-shirts
- Use accessories! Accessories all ways jazz up an outfit, and no a big silver chain does not go with everything!
- Buy quality clothing, and no it does not have to be expensive to be good quality
- If you do wear graphic tees, wash them inside out, this makes it so the graphic does not fall off
- Do not wear tight clothing (overly tight that is) it does not make you look skinnier
Layering
Layering helps to build character or give you some shape. You can layer just about anything; just make sure the colors go with each other. Polo's are great for layering; you can layer just about anything with them!
- Polo with tee (mix it up, with this combo you are aloud to have different colors that do not match with each other)
- Polo with polo ( try it out! Ask a sales associate if it looks nice, why else are they there?)

Dos and Donts
Dos
- Be very careful about the denim area. Do not always go with the skinnies they are just not flattering. Shop around different stores have different styles, personally I like the “boot cut fit” this style is loose but a little bit tightness around the thigh, sits lower on the waist and has a slight flare near the bottom. (P.S. denim is the fashion area you should splurge and pay extra for.).
- Try out the different styles. For example there is the “preppy”, “Goth,” “skater,” “punk,” “beach god,” and “urban.”
Donts
- It's very nice that you can shop for designer clothing but do not wear the huge logos all over! A little logo is just as good, plus it draws more attention to you!
- The whole “gangster” look is not in anymore. The head to toe 10 sizes to big is just not flattering at all!
Don't Forget to Accessorize
- All ways match! Belt and shoe should match (black, black)
- Sunglasses are a must, even if it takes years to find a nice pair
- Necklaces always put an outfit together, knit with a little medallion, sea shell, or anything with the sharp, mystery look to it
- Baseball hats do not go with every outfit guys! MIX IT UP!
