Washington Obituary Essay

Sadly, our nations first and, by far, best president has passed away on December 14, 1799, of a throat infection.

Washington was born into a farm. His father was Augustine Washington and his mother was Augustine's second wife, Mary Ball Washington. Washington's father died in 1743, after which he moved in with his half brother, Lawrence. Lawrence died nine years later in 1742. During his life, George Washington was in the position of commander in chief for our fair nation. Later, he saw over the convention to create our nation's constitution, and afterward, we the people, elected Mr. Washington for the first president of the United States.

In his lifetime, George Washington helped to lead the military to many important victories by being appointed head of the continental army. Washington led his troops into many victories. This affected the whole country, by freeing the nation from the tyrannical grips of Great Britain.

One of George Washington's most major accomplishments was the presiding over the creation of the Constitution of the United States. It took many long days to do, but finally, all of the leaders agreed and made the Constitution that will shape our nation and empower it for years to come. George Washington had the brains and the whit to lead the convention and come up with good solutions so that our country can be a thriving one.

The last major accomplishment of Washington's life was his presidency. During his two terms in office, he considered both the current situation and how would the things that he is doing affect the country in the future. He put in a system of checks and balances that allowed our nation to have balance, making it easier to prosper. This affected the people to give them a taste of what government can be like, and what a good and fair government could be like.

George Washington's accomplishments affected our nation much, and it is indeed a sad day that this wonderful man has died. Washington will always be remembered in our hearts as the man who made our nation what it is today!
