Walter Ellias Disney

Walter Elias Disney was born December 5th 1901 in Chicago. If he was still alive he would be 105 years old this year. Walt Disney was a great dreamer and he worked hard to make his dreams come true, even when all his workers left and he was bankrupt.

In 1911 Walt’s family moved to Kansas city, when Walt was a little older he started raised 15 000$ with small jobs such as newspaper routes selling candy, he then started making his Company (Laugh-O-Gram Films). He was selling cartoons but he was still loosing money. His workers started leaving him. The he started having barely enough money to feed himself. He then received 500$ from dental hygiene and spent it all on making «Alice’s Wonderland» he was bankrupt before it was done.

With the little remaining money he had he bought a train ticket to California (Hollywood). Where he got as an extra in a western but the day his seen was going to be filmed it rained so they replaced him. He then made a small studio in his uncle’s garage. He then told M.J Winkler and sold Alice in Wonderland cartoons 1500$ each. In 1923 he asked His brother (Roy O. Disney) to join him and he accepted. They then opened the Disney Bros. Studios. They started to become famous. They then bought a used camera a truck and hired a few assistants. He fell in love with one of the assistants (Lillian Bounds). They then got married June 13th 1925.

Mickey Mouse (the most famous of his characters) came to life in Steamboat Willie in 1928 .He then made a lot of money in his movie Snow White (1937) so he bought a new studio in Burbank he was now living in luxury. He then made Fantasia, Pinocchio and Bambi. He made his first amusement park, Disneyland in Anaheim, California (1955) followed by Disney-World in Orlando, Florida(1971) and then Disney-Paris in Paris, France(1992) and soon there will be one in Japan. Walter Elias Disney died December 15th 1966.
