Creating a massive base of music, Rashad has placed it onto CD, making his music available for interested listeners worldwide. Tapestry's progressive journey begins with a collection of gentle melodic-beat tunes, topped by whispered rasp-distort vocals. It then progresses into several stronger, livelier pieces. CD by CD, the musical journey of Tapestry continues. These tracks are great for solitary dining or for relaxing into with an after-meal glass of wine, as they offer a peaceful, companionable atmosphere that requests you listen, without punishing you if your mind wanders. It quietens the moment, bringing a sense of peace and purpose to the heart.
When Rashad's former band broke up, he was left with an expensive recorder and the inspiration to use it. Purchasing a bass allowed his creative urge to become Tapestry, a musical project that developed from the origin of combining a techno sound with Mogwai-styled rock. As to the current attitude for Tapestry, Rashad declares, "Since I started making music I've been striving to reach a point where Tapestry breaks all bounds of labels, and can only be called pure beauty, or "musical perfection", if such a thing can exist. It seems like a far-fetched dream, though one I think every musician should strive for."
Currently in his mid-twenties, Rashad is eager for Tapestry to emerge into the world of many listeners - to be heard and appreciated. Strongly focused on creating songs, Rashad says, "By the time I die, I want to have created over a thousand songs to live on for those interested in my works." Like many creatives, finding that first notch suitable to start climbing the mountain of fame, leading to standing upon the summit whilst making a living from creativity, is his focused goal. Some musicians do manage to live from their work, finding those chances and openings that are needed, creating ways around any problems, and never giving up that dream to make and share their sound - whilst escaping from the conventional 9-5 world of uncreative society.
Despite having never taken a music lesson in his life, you can hear the artistic talent flowing from Rashad's music. With determination and target firmly in place, Tapestry is going to take off someday - you can just hear it in the music. Music is very important for me, and it is this very kind, which combines creativity and ability, that I personally choose to listen to. Anyone can buy an album because it is in the charts and we are "supposed" to like it, but Tapestry is for those of us who appreciate the real thing. More meaningful than a thin young lady who can dance better than they can sing or a famous name smiling in a flashy video, Tapestry is for those of us who want to be touched by what he hear, and develop a relationship to the sounds that enter our ears, and not just hear the same old sounds that the whole world is told it should buy.
