Sir Henry Morgan

The Captain Morgan himself was once a true pirate, and he has been on many adventures.

Henry Morgan lived 1635-1688. Henry was born in Jamaica, but he spent most of his childhood in Glamorgan, Wales. As a boy he got kidnapped in Bristol and sold into slavery. Henry Morgan was not actually a pirate. He was hired by the government of England to destroy Spain. His pay was whatever he stole from the Spaniards during the fights. Therefore he searched for treasure near Spain territory. Henry fought a war on panama with Spain and he was outnumbered. This war took place on January 18th 1671.

Soon after Morgan got arrested to England in 1672. He violated a peace treaty between England and Spain. He was able to prove that he had no knowledge of the treaty. Soon after in 1674 Morgan was knighted before returning to Jamaica. He was replaced in 1681 due to sickness. They replaced Morgan with Thomas Lynch. He was diagnosed with hydropsy which is swelling of any organ or tissue. I think that this privateer was better than a pirate. He was legal. He was able to attack and steal from Spaniards without getting in trouble. If I had to choose a pirate ship to be aboard, I would want to be on it with Sir Henry Morgan.
