Richard Mirando A.K.A. Seen

Early Years

Richard Mirando was born in New York in 1961. At the age of 11, participate in a form of art known as graffiti. Graffiti is artwork that is applied to property, such as walls and bridges, without permission. He adopted and began writing the nickname Seen.

Information About His Graffiti

Over time Seen became a pioneer of graffiti. Some people even consider him the godfather of graffiti. As he became more and more well known in the city, he was also becoming more and more skilled. He is known as a flat painter. This means that he usually prints clear, legible letters, as opposed to a style called wild style where it is sometimes nearly impossible to read the artist's nickname.

Recent Years

Richard Mirando has retired from his job as a tattoo artist and devoted his life to graffiti and other forms of art. He joined an infamous crew called the United Artists, or UA for short. In 2005, Seen also revealed his work in successful shows in Tokyo and London, and plans to also host other shows in San Francisco and New York.
