Muhammad Ali

Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., who is mostly known as Muhammad Ali, was an African American boxer, and a good one. Blacks were usually scared and ashamed of their color, but Ali was a proud member of his race.

He accomplished many things such as winning the heavy weight championship 3 times for the first time. He was also a friendly person and many people liked him because of this. During his life, he made big decisions that changed the course of his life completely. Muhammad Ali's journey through life was a great inspiration for African American people, and also for all other people such as me.

Muhammad Ali was a man who looked like he was made to box. He is a wonderful boxer because of his great balance and ability to move his hands and feet quickly. Ali was thought by trainer Joe Martin. Through hard work and discipline, he became a professional fighter and eventually the Heavyweight champion of the world. Although he lost the title twice, he regained it three times. He has his name written all over the history book. He had to stop boxing now because of his illness of Parkinson's diseases.

When Ali was training he put a fee and made about 1,000 dollars a day, but the money wasn't used for him. Every penny of the money that he got was given to needy people, especially kids. He also had another dream to end racial discrimination. He knew it wouldn't be easy. At the time of Ali's fighting career, the United States was fighting in the Vietnam War. When political people saw Ali fighting, they decided to stop sending Americans who didn't know how to fight and to send Ali who knows how to. Ali was very pissed off when they decided to make him go because he had just won the Heavyweight Championship.

Ali was also very religious in his faith of being Muslim. Ali risked all the fame, money, and respect. He would have gone but according to his religion it is a strong sin to kill guiltless inhabitants. He supposes that all people where equal and that every religion and race should be treated the same. He followed his Muslim beliefs and nothing else. He said that he rather be with the Muslim God's law than the governments law. Ali started to change. He joined a group that was against war and protested.

Muhammad Ali was different from other blacks because he said that there is no difference between them and white person. His self-esteem gave him this inspiration to complete his beliefs and actions that he wanted to be done. He said many quotes that showed confidence that he had. Ali had a good control over young kids because they looked up to him. To have this academic skill, go to school and get education. Ali was working real hard for black children to succeed in later generations.

Ali was first scared as a person to go to Southern Africa because of the cruel racism there. To help blacks out he went on a 12 day trip there and to make racism there flee.

Ali has been weakened physically by Parkinson's Disease. There is no cure yet for Parkinson's Disease so now he is trying to find a cure and help others with the disease. He wants for others to understand more about the disease and help the cause.

Muhammad Ali is a man of class, honor and intelligence.
