The younger of two the daughters of Mayra Rodriguez and Arturo Aruca, former singer and musician in the Cuban rock band "Los Dada", Mayra Veronica, A.K.A Mayra Veronica Aruca Roderigueza born on August 20, 1980 in Havana Cuba, is now a Cuban model who acquired her fame in the U.S.A.
This young lady took her training and education seriously as she graduated from Florida International University with a Psychology degree and minor in theatre and also trained in voice, organic acting, and classical dance.
After catching the attention of the US edition of FHM magazine while appearing on Univision's Don Fransisco Presenta where she later had the best selling calendar in 2005, she then appeared in FHM and the 2004 calendar as well as the cover of the FHM collection book. While doing spreads for such magazines as Edge, Maxim, King, Open your eyes, and smoke were she was listed in the top A and which has only ever been blessed with Oscar winners, she also graced some Spanish TV shows , and may commercials such as Coca Cola,Loreal, Ford Burger King and Nike with Lebron James . She not only won over the magazine and television audiences she was also lead on the hit video "Pensando en Ti". She was discriminated against on Spanish news for seeing Gil Dezer, Donald Trumps partner and for suing a strip club for exposing her pictures. Even with all this going on, Veronica still found time to work on and complete the solo "Vengo Con To" produced by Roy Tavares and Kike Santander which got her a top ten spot in 2006 at La Mega. And made headlines on King Magazine saying it made Madonna sound like immature Pop, not a nice compliment for her. As well, just recently the song "Es Tan Dificil Remix with star De La Ghetto and herself has been recorded. In the video game Def Jam: Icon, (2007) Veronica's body and voice are used. Recently she has signed a contract worth millions With CMG/UNIVERSAL MOTOWM for next year's English release.
