Marie Curie

All you ever wanted to know about Marie Curie.

1867- Marie Curie is born on November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, Poland.

1894 - In the School Of Physics, She met Pierre Curie.

1895 - One year later, she married Pierre Curie.

1903 - Marie Curie received her Doctor of Science Degree. Later, she was given the Nobel Prize with her husband

1906 - In 1906 Marie Curie's husband dies. As a result, she took his position as the Professor Of General Physics

1911 - In 1911, she was given her 2nd Nobel Prize for her research in chemistry.

1914 - 1918 World War one was going on during 1914 through 1918

1921 - The President gave her 1 gram of radium for all her accomplishments.

1929 - The President gave Curie $50,000 intended for her research.

July 4, 1934 - Marie Curie dies of leukemia, probably due to her research. Although, her place of death is unknown.

1939 - 1945 World War Two took place during 1939 through 1945.

Her great awards and research inspired many other women. I chose Marie Curie because she is an inspiration to anyone who would like to become a scientst. Her nobel prizes that she received for her many acompishments represents the hard-work and research that she contributed to the field of science. Altogether I think that she was a great scientist and motivated others to follow in her footsteps.
