You can observe many things in this painting. This is a very detailed painting with many shades of color. This picture takes in midday. You can tell because the leaves on the trees in the back round are all shiny and many different colors. The mountains in the back round are magnificent blue and white.

The texture of this painting is wavy with smooth strokes of paint. In this painting, Jesus, the son of god, is eating at the last supper with some of his disciples. In this painting Leonardo Da Vinchi mostly use the primary colors and the secondary colors.

The shape of Jesus in this painting resembles the shape of a triangle. Jesus, the main point of this painting is located in the middle of the painting. Jesus' hair is long, brown, and wavy and looks very realistic compared to real hair. His robes are very long and baggy. On the right his robe is the color red. On his left the robe is the color blue. In the picture a man seated to the left of Jesus lifts a finger at him. He is located in a room in the middle of a cathedral. You can see the back round in a rectangular window. Jesus is eating fish, apples, and bread. He is also drinking red wine. In this painting Jesus seems to be in a good mood. Jesus is partially smiling and is eating with all of his disciples at a special ceremony and an important day in the Christian religion. He is eating at a beautiful whitish blue marble table that is the size of an oversized picnic table. The table looks very smooth and almost has no blemishes. A cool fact about this painting is that it is a fresco. It is very worn down because it is about five hundred years old. It is also only a partial part of a humongous painting that Da Vinci painted on an absolutely great white wall.

You can tell that he was very enthusiastic of his work by how long he spent painting his work and by the detail he put in to the paintings that he did. You can just picture the time it must have took to paint the supper detailed painting he did. The faces in the painting have such detail in their faces it is unbelievable. Those are the observations you can make of this painting.

I like this painting a lot. You could put it in a group of five hundred different paintings and it would be the one to catch tour eye. The people's hair is filled with beautiful detail. When you look in the back round you also see loads of rich detail. It is amazing; it almost is like you are looking at a photograph. One of the only things I do not like about this painting is that it is only part of humongous fresco that Da Vinci actually painted for a church that requested it.

In the real painting you can see that there are many people and that they are in a whole big room where you can see out of many more windows instead of just one.

One thing I like about the time period it is set in is the way the disciples dressed. They wore brightly colored robes that were very long and baggy. I also like that Jesus is not wearing an ugly white, gray, brown, or tan robe. In my opinion those are all very ugly colors. Jesus was wearing a glorious red and blue robe.

Today most of us eat on old wooden tables. Back then and in this painting, they eat on these magnificent marble tables that I would only be honored to eat on. Today a real marble table like that might be worth thousands of dollars. In the picture the marble table is very wide and smooth witch means that it must be at least fairly new.

I noticed when I first looked at this painting that Jesus was eating some of my favorite foods. He is eating apples, buttered bread, and my favorite of them all, the fish. That made the painting just that much more appealing. They used to eat a lot less than we do today. They also ate a lot healthier. Altogether this painting is very beautiful. That is my conclusion opinion of this painting.

One major famous event that happened during Da Vinci's life was when Christopher Columbus claimed to have discovered America. Early in Columbus's sailing life he had a shipwreck. This slowly tarnished his reputation. To try and regain his full reputation back he asked the Portuguese king and queen for the command of a westward expedition and they refused to give him one.

In 1485 he left Portugal and went to the king and queen of Spain. Queen Isabella agreed to his requests and gave him command to three small vessels. They were named the Nina, the Pinto, and the Santa Marina. He also got a crew of ninety men. He left Palos, Spain on august 3, 1492.
