Deborah Remington

A short biography on the artist Deborah Remington.

Deborah Remington, the daughter of the famous artist Frederic Remington, was born in 1930. She grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey and graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1955. After graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute, she moved to China to learn calligraphy and experience the Chinese culture.

In 1965 she returned to the United States and lived in New York City. From here her art career flourished. She began painting many abstract pieces and used the science of optical allusions. During the next twenty years, she became more and more renowned. In 1983 she opened a Retrospective exhibition at the Newport Harbor Museum, which is located in California. In 2001, she released a painting that many people consider her greatest masterpiece, which she named Eridan. Remington continues to live, and paint, in New York City.
