Reasons why you should take a look into metal detecting.
The first and the greatest reason for getting into the growing and exciting outdoor activity are the opportunities to find valuables in your own back yard! Sometimes the only reason people start metal detecting is the possibility to find treasure and personally that's why I wanted one.
The next reason people want to metal detect is to just go outside and get some exercise and maybe go home with a little extra something in your pocket. Metal detecting does not take very much effort and is not very hard. That is why people love it, it's not very difficult to start, and when you do you can't get out.
The third reason to get hooked on metal detecting is being able to unearth history. People including myself love to get the feeling of finding someone has not seen or touched for tens or hundreds of years, now that is very thrilling to some.
Now the next reason to get into using a detector is helping people. Some metal detectors' advertise their services to help people find lost or hidden valuables. Say someone lost their keys and they see my ad in the paper, they call, I come over, find the keys and get paid, in some cases it can be that easy. Other times it can be complicated and tedious work to find something small, like an earring or ring in an area the size of a football field, and get paid around the same as for the lost keys, now that bites.
And now the final reason to start the sport of metal detecting is the fun and exciting experience of using a machine to find anything made out of metal that you don't know whether it could be a pull tab from a pop can or it could be a thousand dollar ring, you just never know. To sum everything up I have said about metal detecting is that the sport of metal detecting offers excitement, exercise, thrill, and maybe even a little extra spending money.
