Family Heirloom

I have one and it happens to be a chest full of things from the Rock Island Railroad. My great-grandfather had saved all the things he got from them.

This heirloom has been handed down form my great-grandfather to my grandfather. Then from my grandfather to my father. Hopefully it will be pasted on to me. The chest that all of it is in is an air tight, galvanized steel box. Sure this box is beet up but it keeps everything in it in excellent condition. This box and the stuff in it are worth millions to a railroad company because the Rock Island Railroad does not exist anymore. There are some valuable things in it. I only hope and pray that it becomes mine some day. I love things from the railroad.

A lot of people want the stuff in it but I will never sell it. There is a map of the railroad from1923 and real socks from the company. In four years it will be worth $700,000, but I won't sell it.

I really hope that I get it. I will give it to my kids and tell them not to sell it. My dad has had it since he was 8-years-old. Believe me it is heavy.
