Young children will love this bright and bouncy craft idea. Make a Valentine Guy to hang on your wall this month! |
Materials- 4 strips of white construction paper, 1” x 18”
- 1 piece 12” x 18” red construction paper
- 1 piece 12” x 18” pink construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
Instructions- Fold the red construction paper in half so it measures 12” by 9”. Draw half a heart against the fold and cut out. This should open into a large heart.
- Fold the pink construction paper in half and cut another heart as above, but make it at least 1” smaller than the red heart.
- Use the scraps to make four hearts for hands and feet. These should be at least two inches long. Cut out eyes and mouth if you wish.
- Center the large pink heart on top of the large red heart. Glue in place.
- Fold each strip of white paper accordion style (fan fold). Glue two strips onto the back of the large red heart to be legs.
- Glue the other two strips onto the back of the large red heart to be arms. Glue one two-inch heart to the end of each strip, making hands and feet.
- Make facial features by gluing on pieces cut earlier or by drawing eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Hang the Valentine Guy where his arms and legs can swing freely.
