Over the years I have collected stamps off and on from different sources, but mostly
torn off from letters and purchased from retail outlets no longer existing. My task now is to sort them out and see what I have collected and look them up in Scotts Stamp Guides and find out when they were placed on the market by the U. S. Post Office. Of course, I hope that they are worth some money. It does not have to be much as long as they are worth more than what I paid for.
One of the stamps that I collected include an 8 cent stamp that honors the U.S. Postal Service. Another one shows a rider on horseback with a horn presumably alerting the citizens that the “British are Coming” because the legend on the stamp is labeled
“Rise of the Spirit of Independence.” A third stamp is titled “Rural America” showing an angus cow. “Progress in Electronics” is the label on my fourth stamp depicting a microchip.
I see that sorting through my stamps is going to be interesting. I must have about a hundred stamps altogether.
