Many years ago a friend drove off the road into a lake in British Columbia. The road had been cut from the side of the mountain where it runs down to the lake. A very narrow road, with those concrete guards you see commonly used along the highways on sharp curves. Yet along Yellow Lake sections were left out, where a pull-out was located so ice fishermen could park and go onto the ice. If you weren't watching where you were driving, you could end up in the lake. This is exactly what happened to this lady. She drove into the lake.
After the car was retrieved, little was said. Allegedly she was still wearing her seat belt, properly buckled. There were also rumors that the door of the submerged car was partly open. The car was almost upright in about eight feet of water. Could she have survived had she been able to unbuckle her seat belt?
When I come back the next time around I'm going to be a design engineer for an automotive manufacturer. I will make certain an electronic release is part of the seatbelt assembly making it release instantly when it comes in contact with water. Very simple; the same idea many rag tops had even years ago; a drop of rain turned on the motor to raise the top.
TOYOTA Take Notes: You already have the top of the line. Add this feature to top it off and increase your sales. It will save a lot of lives. It could be your own!
The next time around I'm going to be a scientist. I'm going to try to find out what a bomb-sniffing dog can sense that we can't. I'm going to get the smartest sniffer I can find and treat him like royalty while I work with him on this project. I'll go so far as to learn some doggy language - why not, they learn ours?
Seriously though, if a sensor could be built to detect explosives, it would soon be standard equipment on every airline. Remember Air India, twenty years ago? I'd be surprised if this idea isn't in the works already. If not, it should be.
I better quit before this article goes completely to the dogs...
I thought of the EBRS(Emergency Belt Release System) years ago, also i thought of a separate 'hard braking light' so that when driving on a motorway and you see in the distance these(maybe neon blue lights??) it would react in the brain making responses quicker?(i haven't actually thought that one through, but in principle its sound) :)
And about the explosive detecting sensors, Again!, i thought of this years ago when the IRA were bombing London.
Maybe there could be some kind of sensor that detects ANY kinds of explosives(i,e, detects one of any ingredients from the explosives) and locks on to the 'package', beams a series of impulses??(im not a scientist) and just renders it useless AND tags the person with the explosives with some invisible stain, cops are alerted and they come along with special torches and apprehend the scumbag?, possible?
(usually, i think something and a couple of months later its been designed and available, its wierd)
And talking to animals, hahahahahaha, i have to laugh, because years ago my pals used to call me Mr Dolittle, hahahahaha(i speak to my cat on a regular basis, and no im not mad) :)
And humans have tried to speak to the animals for years and years, with some advancements i might add!
You go for it!...Woof! :)
Peace.
