All your vehicles need a vehicle Identification Number(VIN) as per the rules made by Federal Regulation which is a Government aided organization. This VIN contains all your vehicular details. In different countries they are termed differently.
In some countries they may be termed as Registration number. This number is given my automobile manufacturers. It's a unique identification number for each vehicle.
But how do we recognize if our vehicle is E85 compatible? Here are few tips to help you out:
- Your vehicle should belong to one of these companies: Ford, General Motors, Mercedes, Mercury, etc. You may consult experts for further information.
- The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number ) is an 8 digit number. You need to check for the vehicle and engine size. The 8th character will be a special character many a times. The 8th character usually will be V,K2 etc if it is an E85 vehicle.
- E85 vehicles usually have a sticker inside the fuel door cover with the wording Ethanol r “E85”
- Some of your E85 engines have emblems which indicate that they are E85 vehicles.
- All your vehicles if you purchase them newly comes with the user manual. Generally, if your vehicle is a E85 one, it will be listing your vehicle name and model as E85 in the manual.
