Car That Goes 40 Miles on Electricity Alone

Can save you a lot of money if you are going on short commutes.

The Chevy Volt is different from all other cars. Instead of switching from electric to gasoline like a hybrid, the Volt runs on totally electricity for 40 miles and then switches to gas so you can go another 300-400 miles to get you to the next charge station or to get you home to charge you vehicle. The Volt will have 150 horsepower and might be able to have a 0-60 time of 6 seconds or less. It is expected to be released late 2010 and will cost between 35,000 and 40,000

Nice ride. The chairman of GM was on the Colbert show last night discussing this car. My wife and I have been looking into hybrids. Thank you for sharing this article with us.
