Let me start this article by telling you that this only based on what is off the top of my head. To be honest, I have no idea at all about how the government of the United States of America runs. This is all about my own understanding, with the help of some books and peoples.
In every government, there i always a leader or even leaders and absolutely there should be followers. Basically, these leaders are voted for or sometimes appointed by people to head such systems of government. Every four or six years there is an election where the people are given the right to vote for their own leaders, and whatever the result is,that would the people's choice. In every city and state in the U.S.,people are given the opportunity to choose their representatives, but why not in the District of Columbia? Should the D.C. residents be given the right to have full representation in Congress?
The answer is yes, absolutely yes. D.C.residents should also have the right to vote as other people do. It is their right and privilege to have their elected representatives. The place may only be a small city, but still needs a representative that should be voted by the residents. And i think there would be no people to blame in case that person is not doing his job, other than the rsidents themselves. They are the ones who know they think they should elect. Although some are not very good voters, who usually elect those people they know only by name or do not vote at all, still it is their right to vote.
No matter who will it be,still D.C. residents have the right to elect their own representatives. Let them decide for themselves....for their future and for their city.
