I like to believe I am open minded when it comes to the unexplainable. I'm not going to sign myself on to one religion when there are so many people out there who whole heatedly believe in their own spiritual traditions. Who is to say what faith is right? There is no way in proofing anything until we get to the other side. And who knows? Maybe we still don't find out THEN. It's all a mystery... I'm not going to preach to you what you should believe, and I hope to God you don't preach to me! Hear that relatives from Texas?? Leave me alone!
I do know however that I believe in the spirit world. I believe that there are things out there that we cannot see or completely understand. There are ghosts or spirits that are trapped here in our world caught between life and the afterlife. Some are friendly....some are evil. Some don't know how to move on...some refuse to move on... This kind of stuff fascinates me but scares the crap out of me at the same time. I love researching ghosts and seeing pictures of orbs or so-called ghosts captured on film.
On Sunday night, they had this show called "Scariest Places on Earth: Fear Force" on ABC Family in which they investigated both Alcatraz and a place called Thunderbird Lodge for paranormal activity. It was pretty freaky to say the least. In the show you could see images of shadows and orbs and they even had this device (I think it's called an EFT meter) that captures voices in a different frequency. In Alcatraz, this one paranormal investigator sat in cell block D12 which is said to be the most haunted in the entire building. Apparently, a prisoner who was thrown in this "hole" got strangled to death sometime back in the 50's. He was locked in this small hole by himself and the guards said he was crying out all night saying that another person was in the hole with him. The guards said it was impossible for somebody else to be in there, and they didn't unlock the cell. In the morning, they found him strangled to death with red hand prints around his neck. Creepy...
So this paranormal investigator guy who my girlfriend thought looked like Robert Downey Jr with blonde hair goes into this hole and taunts the ghost. Downey was there 6 months ago and he had captured on audio tape from the EFT meter the words "I'll face ya" after he called out to the spirit to make his presence known. This crazy Downey dude locks himself into the cell and replays the words "I'll face ya" over and over and over again trying to taunt the ghost. He said that the room dropped about 30 degrees in temperature and that he was feeling extremely nauseous. As he has to leave the cell, he is pushed out and you hear the muzzled words "I got you out!" Oooo...eerieeee
It's all very creepy and eerie and it's crazy to hear the muzzled words of ghosts talking to people...but I wonder if any of this is overplayed for TV. I guess I'll never really know that either. I mean in both the episodes the Downey guy's body was "possessed" by the spirit as he fell to the ground and started convulsing as another voice came out of his mouth taunting the others in the group. Then Downey fully collapsed and was like, "What just happened?" I don't know if that was real or just a case of really mediocre acting.
The show definitely creeped the shit out of me as I stayed at my girlfriend's friend's condo with her watching the Weiner Dog again and just when we're about to go to sleep, she tells me that her friend thinks that the condo is haunted because she is constantly finding items in places in which she didn't leave them.
Needless to say, I didn't have one dream that night that didn't have some sort of ghost in it.... Ooooo....eerrieeeee
