Oxfam is one of the most well known charities in the U.K, and they have currently started helping low economically developed countries with a new method of help, it is an online shop.
Oxfam's online shop isn't an ordinary shop it lets you donate money towards live stock for the people in LEDC's. The live stock is mainly chicks and goats. This is so that they can bread or feed upon them, or get the animals produce e.g. the eggs or goats milk. The main reason is that this is an unlimited source of food, so therefore it's a great idea. Then if they do want money they can always sell an animal or its produce etc.
Another project Oxfam are working on is try to prevent the spread of HIV/aids, but a problem linked with this is that they need to educate them. They need to teach them about HIV/aids and how to stop them getting it or even spreading it.
My opinion on what Oxfam is trying to accomplish in LEDC's, is great they really think about the problems and the best ways in which to solve them. Unlike some charities who just throw there money at them and don't even advise them on how to spend it. So personally I think that Oxfam is a great charity and is really helping the low economically developed countries , by just thinking and evaluating the problems.
