I like to read fellow writers on Triond. I have found on a few articles people leaving terrible comments that have nothing to do with their writing. For eg. Allen striders article ‘Fly a Remote Control plane that doesn’t suck for $30 bucks’. I also hope this writer doesn’t mind me using his writing as an example. Now I don’t fly remote control planes but wanted to read the article as it has been very popular and talked about since I at least joined Triond. So I wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about ( I mean this in a good way Allen Strider ). Like I said I don’t know anything about flying remote control planes but I thought the writing was good and easy to understand for those who do. What I hated was so many people writing disgusting comments about him.
Even one of my poems ‘Dear Husband’ too has been the subject of a couple of complaints. One by Jesus who was just cruel but trust me I didn’t lose sleep over it Jesus as you will see when I get to my point. There was another ridiculous comment left by a Jeannie who said that I wrote the wrong word that she said it should be vows not vowels. Thank-you Jeannie for taking the time out to write what you thought was a spelling error. For the record Jeannie I did this word as a play on a word for two reasons 1.as vowels are a, e , i ,o , u when you say for eg. ‘I’ do and do ‘you’ take this man in a wedding ceremony is a vowel not vows and reason no 2. Is a personal thing between the writer and the written about.
My point is I hope that Triond in time will allow a section where an inappropriate comment is written such as belittling and swearing at the writers that you can report it like in other websites and Triond can look at it and decide to delete it if they agree with it.
My point is Triond is an avenue for writers, and artists alike to freely express themselves it’s not high school where you get to say ‘you suck’ to a writer as I have seen on other writers comment section. We don’t expect you to like all our work and expect praises from here to Timbuktu. All I ask is don’t swear, belittle and leave disgusting comments about a writers characters in whom you haven’t even met. Quite frankly I was more upset about the comments left on other writers work as they were terrible. Mine was tame compared to there’s. Leave the artists to write and take pictures in peace. We don’t share our work to be judged.
