How to Multiply Numbers

Multiplication: A mathematic operation that is the inverse of division. A quicker way of increasing or decreasing a high number than addition.

The multiplication table is listed below.

If you are not sure how this chart works, read the following.

1. First, look at the 1 on the top row and the 1 on the left column. That means 1 x 1

and if you look where those two numbers meet you will see that there is a one there.

This means: 1 x 1 = 1

Now try these problems below(if you get stuck, use the chart) The answers will be listed below

  1. 1 x 2 = ?
  2. 3 x 5 = ?
  3. 5 x 7 = ?

These are the answers to the problems above.

  1. 2
  2. 15
  3. 35

If you do not understand how these problems came out to be read the following.

Lets try the problem 2 x 7

(Without using the chart, let us solve this problem.)

2 x 7 is the same thing as 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2.

If you add it, it would equal 14.

The answer to 2 x 7 is 14.
