In the first list of the Five Most Annoying Characteristics Wilma Proops identified: Bragging , Arrogance, Smarminess, Stinginess and, Rudeness. That list was compiled with the help of twenty women who gad just got back from the pub. This list was compiled with the assistance of the same twenty women who had, again, just got back from the pub. So as not to replicate the findings of her first Wilma Proops put this question:
“Apart from Bragging, Arrogance, Smarmines, Stinginess and Rudeness what other characteristics do you find the most annoying?”
Slobiness
The women didn't like slobs. Slobs were seen as unclean and smelly and not to be given any space. People that don't wash their hands after going to the toilet were one of the women's pet hates. Men who wear a layer of deodorant over body odour, people who can but don't wear clean socks and under-garments were other examples.
Talking too Quietly
A few women decided that they hated people who spoke too quietly. They were annoyed having to continually say “pardon” or “what did you say” or “speak up for god's sake” or having to pretend or guess what these most annoying individuals had actually said.
Greed
People who always have more than their fair share were lambasted. Men were identified as being far more greedy than women but the drunken sample could not decide whether this should come under sexism. Wilma explained the difference between the two.
Male sexism
Men who truly believe themselves to be the better or chosen sex. These were deemed more than annoying - infuriating and idiotic - were other descriptions used. NB Female sexism wasn't deemed to be at all annoying but actually was deemed to be acceptable and respectable.
Ignorance
The women agreed they preferred people with a certain level of intellect, good conversationalists and those interested in of not expert in a variety of fields. The women all said they avoided contact with ignorant types as they were normally very annoying.
