The Secret Pro's of School

I know most teenagers out there are counting down the days till they finish high school, but did you ever stop to think about the pro's of school? The unforgettable memories and the people that you meet?

I bet when we all hear the word “school” we fall into a state of depression, but should we really take such an important part of our life for granted? How many of you are like me and wake up on a Sunday and think, "Crap I have school tomorrow", or get up on a Saturday thinking "bum, tomorrows Sunday then its school again”.

Holidays however, are defiantly the worst. During the term one holidays I have friends who in the second week say “oh my god I can"t believe we have 13 days until school! Ouch!”, or in the final week, “One more week! Just one more week! Help me!”

I know its natural to loath education but I was beginning to think if we didn't have school we'd be really bored and lifeless. Just imagine not being able to laugh not at the hilarity of a teachers joke but the lameness and stupidity, or secretly snigger at a teacher telling the same joke of over and over again to the extent where students give warning signs before entering his/her class! I'm really sorry to report this teachers but bagging you guys up is a part of what makes life fun. If it's not the purple stockings it's the bus driver look a like uniform the science teacher wore.

Girls are always so bitchy when they look each other up and down when entering a room, but I thinks it's a compulsive thing we do automatically when a teacher enters a room, which we forget not to do with friends. However there is one happy side to the clothing from the local op shop. Just imagine going into the trendy surf shop and seeing the science teacher trying on the pink bathing suit you'd been saving up to buy for months, or flirting with the hot counter guy telling him he's “foxy”. Yikes. Also do we really want to be in competition with teachers on plain clothes day?

School is a great place for socializing. We need to have friends to pull us through the long, dragging days. Plus having a best friend is a god in class. I mean don't you hate it when a teacher tells the class something hilarious and you think its so funny you are still laughing 20 minutes later? Or when the teacher does something stupid which you think is extremely funny but no one else does? A best friend is the one person who laughs with you during the embarrassing moments, who always laughs at the lamest jokes you tell and tells you when half the chocolate cake you had for lunch has ended up on your teeth.

Just think that without school you wouldn't have this person by your side, who knows everything about you and who can predict which days you just won't come to school (swimming carnival, cross country).

Remember assembly and those people who get up on stage and crack to themselves at their jokes whilst the audience sits in silence. Loved it.

School does so much more for a person then teach them math or geography. It teaches us to lie in a moments notice, and to use our imagination widely when asked why the term paper is two weeks late. It teaches us not to laugh when someone wears red stockings with a green suit oh, and what about learning how to look like your listening in class but really thinking about last nights episode of "friends"?

The struggles we go through high school with shape who we are are and give us memories which make us wonder why did I take school for granted so much? Take it from me, and all my friends who just finished our year 12, cherish school! It will go so quickly and trust me the memories you have at school will be with you forever.
